Monkeypox: first case in Morocco

THE Morocco has just recorded its first case of monkeypoxaccording to an announcement made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The patient, treated in a specialized medical center in Marrakech, is currently in a stable condition and does not present any complications.

Moroccan health authorities responded quickly by activating the necessary isolation and medical monitoring procedures. Epidemiological investigations are also underway to identify people who have been in contact with the patient and take appropriate preventive measures.
