Mohammed VI, key actor in the release of French agents in Burkina Faso
Four French intelligence agents, held in Ouagadougou for a year, found their freedom on December 19. A release which highlights, once again, the role played by King Mohammed VI in the negotiations.
As soon as their release was announced, French President Emmanuel Macron rushed to “warmly thank” the Moroccan sovereign for his “decisive” intervention in this thorny issue, recalls Paris-Match. It must be said that this affair, which has been going on since December 2023, embarrassed the DGSE (French Directorate General of Foreign Intelligence).
