Mohamed El Khalfi, pioneer of Moroccan theater, has died
Mohamed El Khalfi, emblematic figure of Moroccan theater and television, died on Saturday in Casablanca, at the age of 87. The actor and director had left the hospital the day before after several weeks of hospitalization.
Born in 1937, he began his career in 1957 in the “Amateur Theater” with Tayeb Sadiki and Ahmed Laâlej. He then founded his own troupes, “Al Msrah Ach-chaâbi” and “Al Fannanine Al Mouttahidine”, producing seven plays including “The Cultivated Family” with Touria Jabrane.
