Mehdi Ghezzar’s (RMC) infamous remarks on Morocco shock

Mehdi Ghezzar, a columnist on RMC’s “Les Grandes Gueules” show, harshly criticized Morocco, referring to it as “a rogue state,” “a settler state.” His remarks sparked a wave of indignation in France.

Mehdi Ghezzar went too far during his intervention in a one-and-a-half-hour program on the Algerian channel AL24. Reacting to the attempt by the Moroccan representative to remove the “SADR” sign, who was not invited to the preparatory meeting for the 9th edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), which provoked a violent altercation between him and the Polisario representative, he called the Moroccan diplomat a “pseudo human being”. “I am very happy that the thug “Morocco”, that this diplomatic thugocracy is humiliated in front of the entire world,” he added, calling the kingdom a “colonial state”. According to him, it is “an insult to diplomacy to say that Morocco has a diplomatic apparatus”.
