Mehdi Carcela apologizes after Christmas controversy
The former Moroccan international Mehdi Carcéla has apologized for sharing in an Instagram story the video of a Muslim preacher who sharply criticized the Christmas holidays.
“Christian Day is a celebration that is repeated in what honor? (…) They gather for worship other than Allah. And on the practice of reprehensible things that are done during these ceremonies. There we find the blameworthy, disobedience, diversity. Maybe alcohol and musical instruments, many things. (…) It is forbidden for a Muslim to go to this type of party, even if he has been invited,” we can hear in this video published in Mehdi Carcela’s Instagram story, before December 25, the day of celebration of the Christmas party. A controversy then arose on social networks.
