Medi1 TV mistakenly announces the death of Abdelwahab Doukkali

Medi1 TV is under fire for having mentioned the name of Abdelwahab Doukkali preceded by “fire” in a report on the Mers Sultan district of Casablanca, broadcast on Sunday in the channel’s news bulletins, suggesting that the artist died.

When the report was broadcast, Medi1 TV viewers were surprised to hear “the late Abdelwahab Doukkali”, even though the person concerned is very much alive. A professional error which aroused the anger of relatives and fans of the Moroccan artist. Many Internet users also expressed their indignation at this umpteenth blunder by the channel, questioning “the criteria adopted to verify the information and the lack of professional rigor and vigilance among those responsible for the channel’s editorial staff, since the same report was broadcast several times in different bulletins over a period of twenty-four hours, and even posted online on the institution’s website.
