Mauritania-Morocco: an alliance that worries Algiers

The Mauritanian president recently made a trip to Rabat where he had a tête-à-tête with King Mohammed VI. A meeting viewed negatively by Algeria, which was quick to make it known.

In a press release, the Royal Cabinet indicated that “this meeting is part of the strong relations of trust and cooperation between the two countries, as well as the ties of sincere fraternity between the two brotherly peoples”. On this occasion, “the leaders of the two countries welcomed the positive development of the Moroccan-Mauritanian partnership in all areas,” adds the note.
