Marrakech: the “guardian mafia” takes over the parking lots

Human rights defenders in Marrakech are sounding the alarm: the “guardian mafia” is rampant in the city, controlling all parking spaces, whether cars, motorcycles or bicycles.

These individuals, often with criminal records, appropriate parking lots and impose exorbitant prices, particularly as Morocco prepares to host major international events such as the African Cup or the World Cup.
