Marrakech: Jemaa el-Fna becomes pedestrian
Braking for vehicles on the road famous Jemaa el-Fna square in Marrakech. Thus, cars, trucks and two-wheelers will no longer have the right to enter after 1 p.m. Only police and emergency vehicles will be able to drive there.
The wilaya of Marrakech took this decision to secure the square and allow pedestrians to stroll peacefully. “Enough is enough” seem to be saying the authorities who have decided to crack down after yet another accident involving a car. The objective is to make the square a safer space for tourists, many of whom flock every day to enjoy the unique entertainment of Jemaa el-Fna.
