Marrakech: British overtake French

Marrakech is still a popular destination, and France remains its leading European market. But the ochre city is increasingly attracting the British, who could dethrone the French.

According to the tourism delegation’s dashboard, the city’s classified establishments received some 1,766,786 tourists at the end of July, which generated 5.3 million overnight stays, including 4,329,361 made by foreign tourism. International tourism accounted for 78% of overnight stays, national tourism 20%. In Marrakech, France is the leading European market with 27%. During the first seven months of 2024, the number of French arrivals is around 399,338, representing growth of +13% compared to the same period in 2023.
