Marrakech: a new fashion that does not please everyone

The city of Marrakech is famous for its majestic palm trees. But a new trend worries environmental defenders: the planting of palm trees on the roofs of houses, hotels and public buildings.

This phenomenon developed in reaction to environmental campaigns which advocate the replacement of palm trees in the streets with trees that are more effective against pollution and offer more shade.
