Civil actors and rights defenders note a degradation of the famous Ménara garden in Marrakech, one of the oldest gardens in the Muslim West, and call on the city authorities to take responsibility.


Presence of “kiosks”, buildings and illegal facilities … The famous Ménara garden in Marrakech gives way to a landscape of desolation. This historic site, founded in the 12th century by the Almohads, turned into a refuge for people urinating in public and an open -air discharge, while Morocco is held, under the 1972 Convention on Protection world heritage, to preserve the sites listed on the World Heritage List, such as the Marrakech Medina, which houses the Ménara monument, said Achyen.
