Major facelift for Fez airport
Morocco is working to expand the Fez-Saïss airport in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-organize alongside Spain and Portugal.
Fez-Saïss airport will soon be transformed. The National Office of Airports (ONDA) launched a consultation on Friday for the realization of architectural studies and the monitoring of the extension and redevelopment works of the facilities, in order to provide Fez-Saïss airport with the necessary infrastructure and equipment to guarantee optimal management of its air activity. The project includes a passenger terminal with an area of approximately 46,000 m², including the extension, which will consist of two levels. Spread over an area of 13,590 m², the basement level will house the baggage sorting system, technical premises, baggage sorting support premises of which 6,645 m² already exist, and 6,945 m² dedicated to the extension.
