Kuwait Airways: Moroccan employees dismissed?
In 2020, Kuwait Airways laid off 1,500 foreign workers in response to the significant financial impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The airline, which employs many Moroccans, is now carrying out a new wave of layoffs.
Significant financial pressure, attributed to inflated salaries and an oversized workforce, is pushing Kuwait Airways to end the service of foreign workers and retirees. The airline “had previously employed some retirees with technical expertise to ensure operational safety,” but “with the recent appointments to fill these positions, the decision has been taken to lay off some of these individuals.”
