Kurdish and Polisario flags: Algeria arouses Turkey’s anger
As the transitional Syrian government moves closer to Morocco, Algeria welcomes a delegation of Kurds from the northeastern regions of Syria, currently under the control of the forces of the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF), administered by the “Rojava”.
Upon arrival, the delegation visited the Polisario Front facilities in Tindouf, where they were photographed in a group, waving the Front’s flag alongside two flags representing the Kurdish regions. On the occasion, the delegation expressed its support for the idea of ”separation” explicitly by displaying the flag of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). The latter are an organization that Turkey classifies as “terrorist” because of its armed activities and its declared ambition to create a Kurdish state by taking away territories from Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. .
