In the Netherlands, a Moroccan missing for 17 years
From Casablanca, a mother tries to find her son living in Amsterdam and Alphen aan den Rijn, in the Netherlands, who has been missing for 17 years.
Mohamed Chakir has not given any sign of life since 2007. Born in 1968 in Morocco, he left for the Netherlands in 1993 in search of a better life. But before that, he had met a Dutchman named Erik in Morocco. They become friends. The two men move to the Netherlands. “He first lived in Amsterdam and probably worked in a hospital. Later, he also lived with Erik in Alicante, Spain, then in Alphen aan den Rijn,” says Abdessamad, Mohamed’s brother, from Casablanca.
