In Tangier, MREs banned from restaurants for wearing traditional clothing
Moroccans living abroad (MRE) were turned away at the entrance to a luxury restaurant on the Tangier corniche because they were wearing traditional Moroccan clothing.
In a statement with the site Al3omkMREs revealed that they were refused entry to this restaurant located on the Tangier corniche because of their outfits. They were wearing the Gandoura and the Djellaba, which are traditional Moroccan clothes. Outraged, they are calling on the authorities to intervene to put an end to what they consider to be an “anarchy” that reigns in the sector. According to them, these behaviors could have a negative impact on the tourism sector on which the Moroccan government is banking heavily.
