In Tangier, a beach invaded by waste water
THE Merkala beachin Tangier, is once again struggling with sewage pollution. Local residents have reported this new discharge, raising concerns about the state of the environment and the health of bathers.
According to reports, the origin of this pollution is to be found on the side of the Amendis pumping station, located not far from the port of Tangier city. This infrastructure, belonging to the eponymous company, is said to be the cause of the discharge of large quantities of wastewater into the sea, thus contaminating the beach of Merkala and its surroundings.
