In Morocco, a “tsunami of food poisoning” alarms associations
In Morocco, the increase in cases of food poisoning is causing concern among consumer rights associations who are calling on the competent authorities to strengthen controls in restaurants and fast food establishments.
Faced with what they consider to be a “tsunami of food poisoning”, these associations are sounding the alarm. They question the effectiveness of the measures recently announced by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, to reduce cases of food poisoning, including the creation of 130 municipal health control offices for a budget of approximately 1.040 billion dirhams. These offices should be supported by 260 doctors, 130 veterinarians, 260 nurses and 260 public health technicians.
