In Morocco, a donkey causes an accident on the highway, who should pay the bill?

A Moroccan motorist has won a legal battle against the Société nationale des autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) following an accident that was unusual to say the least. While traveling on the highway, he hit a stray donkey, causing material damage to his vehicle.

The Casablanca administrative court ruled in favor of the driver, finding that the ADM had failed in its safety obligations. The main argument? The lack of adequate fencing to prevent the intrusion of animals onto the highway, a failure which led to this unfortunate accident.
