In Morocco, a beach, privatized by a hotel, forbidden to vacationers

Residents of the Sahel commune in the province of Larache are being discriminated against. The Royal Gendarmerie and local authorities are preventing them from accessing the beach of Sidi Abderrahim, which is reserved exclusively for guests of a hotel located nearby.

A discriminatory decision that is not going down well. The beach of Sidi Abderrahim is forbidden to residents for access and swimming but reserved exclusively for hotel guests, even though it is a popular destination for many families in the city, a source of income and a seasonal employment opportunity for a group of young people in the region. Faced with this ban, a lawyer at the Tangier bar sent a request to the president of the court of first instance of Larache, asking him to appoint a bailiff to carry out an on-site inspection. He explained that the law gives the court the right to appoint a bailiff to carry out inspections.
