In Bordeaux, a Maghreb policewoman denounces racism in the police

In Bordeaux, a policewoman “who is fed up with being sent back to her Maghreb origins” and who is “unbearable” by the “hostile and offensive” service atmosphere has filed a complaint for “moral harassment” against her hierarchical superior. She also accuses racist remarks. The IGPN is conducting an investigation to determine whether the facts are proven or not.

The information published by Release that two female police officers filed a complaint against their superior was confirmed by Frédérique Porterie, public prosecutor of Bordeaux. “Two complaints of moral harassment (were) filed between the end of April and mid-May in the context of an internal conflict within a group of investigators at the Bordeaux police station,” she said, specifying that “only one” of the two complainants “mentioned racist remarks.”
