Housing assistance: a real flop in northern Morocco?

The number of beneficiaries of the direct housing assistance program reached 16,300 as of July 2, recently announced Fatima Zahra Mansouri, Minister of Regional Planning, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Policy, noting a low level of enthusiasm among the populations of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima for the program.

By region, Fez-Meknes, Casablanca-Settat and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra are the top beneficiaries of housing assistance. Fez, Berrechid, Kenitra and Grand Casablanca are among the top five prefectures and provinces receiving this assistance, said Fatima Zahra-Mansouri, adding that 41% of beneficiaries have acquired housing worth less than or equal to 300,000 dirhams.
