Holidays abroad, the new forced choice of Moroccans

In Morocco, the surge in prices of tourist services (hotels, cafes and restaurants) during the summer season pushes many Moroccans to spend their holidays abroad, which seriously undermines domestic tourism, but also the local economy. According to the Moroccan Federation of Consumer Rights, many tourism operators exploit Moroccan consumers by offering them substandard services at exorbitant prices, reports The Observer of Morocco and AfricaThis situation has pushed a growing number of Moroccan tourists to prefer spending their money in foreign countries, where similar services are available at much more competitive prices, the federation said.
