Has Morocco suspended its military cooperation with Israel?

Morocco appears to have frozen its military cooperation with Israel due to the war in Gaza. The kingdom, which has diversified its suppliers of military equipment in recent years, could turn more towards Turkey.

Since the resumption of their relations in December 2020, within the framework of the Abraham Accords, Morocco and Israel have strengthened their military cooperation, which led to the purchase by the Royal Armed Forces of the Barak MX anti-missile defense system for an amount of 500 million dollars. Israel delivered the first units of this system to Morocco in April 2023. The two countries also signed an agreement for the installation of two weapons production factories in Morocco.
