Half of young Moroccans want to leave Morocco

According to a study by the Arab Barometer published in June, 55% of young Moroccans aged 18 to 29 are considering immigrating to Europe and America due to the difficult economic situation and persistent corruption in the kingdom.

According to this study, 35% of Moroccans in general plan to leave the kingdom to build a better future abroad. The difficult economic situation in Morocco, which is suffering the perverse effects of a series of crises at the national (earthquake of September 8) and international (Covid-19, war in Ukraine) levels, remains the primary cause of migration. 45% of respondents cite this reason.
