Half of Muslims in Europe victims of daily racism

Half of Muslims residing in the EU experience racist discrimination on a daily basis, reveals a report from the European Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), published Thursday October 24.

According to this report, Islamophobia is reaching alarming proportions in the EU. The document notes a “spike in hatred against Muslims” after October 7, 2023, the date of the occurrence of Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel. It shows that it is “increasingly difficult to be Muslim in the EU,” said Nicole Romain, spokesperson for the European Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), in a press statement.
