“Grimates” in Morocco: the hunt for illegal permits is launched

In Oujda, taxi operating permit holders, commonly called “grimates”, are required to prove that they are indeed alive.

The city’s police headquarters gave them until the end of January to present official proof, otherwise they risk losing their precious ticket.
