France sets a condition for Moroccan retirees

Since Monday, January 20, the Social Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly has examined the Social Security financing bill. One of the amendments offered concerns pensions collected by foreigners including Moroccans outside French territory.

The deputy Fabien di Filippo of the Right’s Republican right deposited on Wednesday January 22, an amendment proposing that any retiree from France residing abroad “presents himself, each year, in person, before the French consular authorities or any legal or physical approved person approved by him ”to perceive his pension. This measure will be implemented “under conditions determined by decree in the Council of State”, it is said. In the event of non-compliance with this requirement, “the payment of his pension is immediately interrupted”, proposes the republican deputy.
