Reports that FIFA is considering reducing the number of stadiums selected to host the 2030 World Cup that Morocco will co-host alongside Spain and Portugal by excluding the Fez stadium are false. Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), responds to Spanish rumors.


“The FIFA Congress validated the six Moroccan stadiums planned for the tournament. There is therefore no modification on this subject,” declared Fouzi Lekjaa, during an intervention before the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco, thus denying the information relayed by Spanish media affirming that FIFA would consider reducing the number of Moroccan stadiums selected to host the 2030 World Cup matches. The president of the FRMF also assured that the Fez stadium is not excluded from the tournament plans. “We are continuing the preparations, in particular by finalizing the work at the Fez stadium in order to highlight this city with its exceptional scientific and cultural heritage,” he added, reaffirming that the Moroccan candidacy, validated in its entirety, remains unchanged. and that the preparation work progresses in accordance with the set deadlines.
