FBI catches Idriss Qibaa, the Moroccan scammer who bragged on the web

A Moroccan man living in the United States was arrested by the FBI in Las Vegas after bragging about defrauding hundreds of people via the internet.

Last week, the FBI arrested Idriss Qibaa — formerly known as “Dani” or “Unlocked” — at his Las Vegas home. The arrest followed statements the Moroccan national made in an interview with Adam Grandmaison, host of the podcast No Jumper, better known as Adam22. In the interview, Qibaa, who ran the website Unlocked4Life, said he “has over 200 people who pay him monthly to maintain access to their accounts, and he makes over $600,000,” according to the criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court of Nevada. His modus operandi is to block social media accounts and then promise their owners that he will unblock them for a fee. Other services offered by the suspect include artificially inflating users’ view or subscriber counts for a fee, collecting personal information about other people for clients, and getting other users banned on behalf of clients.
