Fatal accident at Saint-Avold toll: suspect surrenders after fleeing to Morocco

Returning from Morocco, the driver of a stolen vehicle involved in a fatal accident on August 13 in Moselle has been placed in custody. His co-perpetrator has been placed under judicial supervision.

A Citroën Berlingo stolen from an association was involved in a fatal traffic accident on August 13 at the Saint-Avold toll booth in Moselle. Two individuals from Forbach were behind the theft of the vehicle. As they fled – one in the stolen vehicle, the other in his own vehicle – the driver of the stolen car forced the barrier at the Saint-Avold toll booth as well as a second toll barrier a little further away, in Farébersviller, causing a fatal accident, reports Le Parisien. The Citroën Berlingo hit a 59-year-old Sanef employee, who died.
