Famous Moroccan rapper sentenced to prison in the Netherlands
Haarlem court sentenced Moroccan-born rapper Ali B to two years in prison for rape and attempted rape. The rapper has announced his intention to appeal.
The judge found Ali B guilty of raping a woman at a writing camp in Heiloo and of attempting to rape singer Ellen ten Damme during the filming of a television show in Morocco in 2014. For these charges, the rapper, who was absent from the hearing, was sentenced to two years in prison, one year less than the three years requested by the prosecution. His lawyer, Bart Swier, said he would appeal the decision, stressing that his client has always maintained his innocence.
