Egyptian giant expands hotel empire to Morocco
The Egyptian group PickalbatrosEgypt’s tourism heavyweight, is continuing its expansion in Morocco by acquiring four new hotels this year. This operation brings its total hotel capacity in the kingdom to more than 2,600 rooms, according to Kamal Abou Ali, the group’s chairman, without revealing the amount of these transactions.
The new properties include Club Le Sangho in Marrakech, the country’s top tourist destination, with 349 rooms, as well as the Palmeraie Palace and Golf Hotel, totaling 640 rooms in the same city. The Palace des Roses in Agadir, with 410 rooms, completes the acquisition. Some of these hotels will undergo renovations before opening their doors to visitors next year, he told Al Sharq Affairs.
