Driouch Hospital: MRE baby dies in tragic circumstances
A seven-month-old baby, showing signs of respiratory distress, tragically died on Saturday at the provincial hospital of Driouch following a failure to provide prompt care. The local office of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) is calling for an “urgent and thorough” investigation to be opened to determine who is responsible.
The infant, whose family is from Midar, Driouch province, but resides in Belgium, “was suffering from a high fever accompanied by breathing difficulties. His family transported him to the provincial hospital of Driouch at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, but he received no treatment due to the absence of a doctor to examine his condition, and the infant breathed his last en route to a private clinic in Nador,” the local office of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) explained in a statement.
