Disappearance in the Sahel: Moroccan drivers found alive

The steps taken by Moroccan diplomacy, in collaboration with professionals in the transport sector to find the four Moroccan truckers missing since Saturday January 18 on a road between the north-east of Burkina Faso and the west of Niger have carried their fruits.

The four Moroccan truckers were found safe and sound. They are currently at the Moroccan embassy in Niamey, accompanied by a Burkinabé driver and another Togolese. These Moroccans were on board three trucks and had left Casablanca bound for Niger with a cargo of electrical equipment. As they arrived near the border between Burkina Faso and Niger, they reportedly refused to follow local security instructions. Afterwards, their disappearance was reported.
