Devastating rains in Morocco: no link to cloud seeding

Moroccan authorities have denied rumours that cloud seeding was the cause of heavy rainfall that has caused flooding in several regions of the kingdom.

Houssein Youabed, head of communication at the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), assured that the showers that hit the southeastern and Atlas regions were not due to cloud seeding, but rather to “a strong influence of a very unstable tropical air mass, product of the exceptional rise of the Intertropical Front (FIT) towards the southern regions.”
