Delay for the Moroccan-Spain tunnel
The tunnel connecting Spain and Morocco under the Strait of Gibraltar will not be built by 2030 as planned. According to experts, the work of this mega project, which is still in the study stage, could not be completed until 2040.
Initially planned to end in 2030, in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup, the Morocco-Spain tunnel could ultimately be born in 2040 due to its technical complexity. Despite the efforts of the Spanish and Moroccan authorities, through the Spanish company in charge of fixed bond studies of the Strait (SECEGSA) and the National Society of Studies Studies (SNED), this deadline cannot be respected.
