Death of a patient in a clinic in Casablanca, doctors in court
The trial of two doctors and the legal representative of a private clinic, accused of having caused the death of a patient through negligence and medical errors, opened before the Casablanca criminal court.
It all started with a complaint filed by the husband of a patient who died after having had her uterus removed to eradicate a cancerous tumor. In his complaint, he accuses a doctor specializing in gynecological surgery, another in intestinal surgery, as well as the owner of a private clinic in Casablanca of having caused the death of his wife through negligence and medical errors, reports Assaba. The defendants are being prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter and complicity. An in-depth investigation, carried out by the criminal brigades, would have revealed errors which caused the death of the victim. Their trial opened before the Casablanca criminal court.
