Date fraud: Algeria infiltrates the Moroccan market via Tunisia

While the Algerian dates are undesirable in Morocco, Tunisian distributors have found the trick to cum with Moroccan importers.

As the sacred month of Ramadan approaches, Tunisian operators bypass the refusal of Moroccan merchants to import Algerian dates. They buy these dates at low prices, then resell them to Moroccan importers, presenting them as Tunisian products, accompanied by false certificates of Tunisian origin, notes the daily Assabah. However, many Moroccans have continued to call the boycott of Algerian dates.
