Controversial demolition of a café in Fez

A café installed for more than two decades in a public garden in Fez was demolished by the authorities. The establishment, located in the Agdal district, had been operated by a tenant for 21 years.

The radical decision to demolish follows the manager’s attempt to transform the café into a restaurant specializing in the sale of chicken. This initiative sparked intense controversy, with the transformation deemed incompatible with the environmental vocation of the place.
