Comments on the Maghrebs: Bernard Casoni condemned

Bernard Casoni, former coach of US Orléans, was sentenced this Thursday, January 9 by the Orléans judicial court to a fine of 25,000 euros, 15,000 of which was suspended.

This decision follows comments made by the coach during a pre-match press conference, where he declared about his players: “They are no more stupid than North Africans”. A sentence which sparked a lively controversy and led to the opening of an investigation into public insult of a racist nature.
