Chicken becomes a luxury: how far will prices rise in Morocco?

Bad news for Moroccans. The price of poultry continues to rise, reaching 30 dirhams per kilogram compared to 18 dirhams a few months ago. An increase which raises concerns as the month of Ramadan approaches.

Moroccan households, whose purchasing power is already weakened by the general rise in the prices of food products, are not at the end of their troubles. Despite assurances from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Interprofessional Federation of the Poultry Sector (FISA) which had promised a stabilization of poultry prices, the situation remained unchanged.
