Chefchaouen: when a circumcision campaign turns into a tragedy

In Chefchaouen, five children experienced serious complications after undergoing circumcision as part of a campaign organized by a local association for the benefit of 40 children. Civil society organizations are calling for an investigation to be opened to clarify this matter.

Following this collective circumcision campaign, “five children suffered infections and serious complications requiring hospitalization at the Tangier regional hospital,” reports Al-Akhbaradding that “the situation of two of the five children would be extremely serious and could even cause permanent disability which is difficult to treat”. The two children are still admitted to the intensive care unit, it is specified.
