Casablanca: the troubling role of real estate developers

The connection of the areas of Nouaceur and Bouskoura, on the outskirts of Casablanca, to public transport is reportedly behind schedule due to a lobby of real estate developers.

A “lobby” of real estate developers would have succeeded in isolating economic housing projects in areas of Nouaceur and Bouskoura, on the outskirts of Casablanca, after having exerted strong pressure at the level of the prefecture of the province of Nouaceur, in order to delay the connection of these areas to public transport; which led to a slowdown in the marketing of said projects, reveal Hespress sources. According to their explanations, these influential developers exploited their relationships with elected officials to also hinder road infrastructure projects, in order to facilitate the flow of their stocks of real estate products in projects belonging to them in Aïn Chock and Sidi Maârouf.
