Casablanca relaunches the RER

The ambitious regional express network (RER) project is finally coming out of the drawers of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council. Its achievement should be effective before the Football World Cup which Morocco will co-organize alongside Spain and Portugal.

The regional express network (RER) project was included on the agenda of the session of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council on Monday. It should be officially launched in the coming weeks. “A draft agreement between the National Railway Office (ONCF), the municipality and the region of Casablanca-Settat is in preparation. It will be presented during the next ordinary session of the city council,” underlined Nabila Rmili, mayor of Casablanca during the session, adding that the RER will connect the future large Benslimane stadium (Casablanca) to Casablanca airport.
