Casablanca empties its shanty towns



Casablanca authorities are working hard to construction of 62,000 social housing units intended to accommodate the inhabitants of the shanty towns of the metropolis and its surroundings (Nouaceur, Médiouna and Mohammedia), before the 2030 World Cup.


Some 62,000 families living in shantytowns will be relocated to 62,000 apartments under construction in the city of Casablanca. The project aims to rid the economic capital of the kingdom of shantytowns, as part of preparations for hosting the 2030 World Cup.
