Casablanca: angry cafe and restaurant owners
The Casablanca authorities plan to carry out a vast operation to free the public domain, anarchically occupied by the owners of cafes and restaurants. A decision which arouses discontent among the ranks of the latter.
The local authorities of Moulay Rachid, in Casablanca, have ordered the owners of cafes and restaurants to vacate the public domain on which they have erected their terraces, in violation of the texts in force. The owners concerned say they do not understand the reasons which motivated this decision by the local authorities, affirming that they pay taxes for the exploitation of the public domain. They are preparing to submit a request for a hearing to the governor of Moulay Rachid prefecture for further explanations.
