Carrefour closes all its stores in Jordan, pressure also in Morocco

Carrefour announced on Monday the closure of all its stores in Jordan. The French brand made this decision due to the boycott it has suffered for more than a year for having expressed its support for Israel in the war in Gaza. The French brand also faced a boycott in Morocco.

“As of November 4, 2024, Carrefour will cease all its operations in Jordan and will end its activities in the kingdom,” Carrefour said in a statement published on Facebook. The French distribution giant did not fail to show its gratitude to its “customers for their support” and apologized to them “for any inconvenience this decision may cause”.
