Burkini banned in several swimming pools in Morocco
In Morocco, the ban on wearing burkinis at the swimming pools of some hotels is preventing Muslim women from fully enjoying their summer holidays. The measure is considered discriminatory and a violation of women’s right to wear the clothing of their choice.
Every summer, many Muslim women complain about this measure taken by some hotels or private beaches prohibiting the wearing of the burkini. These women say they are surprised to be refused access to swimming pools or private beaches because of the burkini they wear for reasons of religious conviction, but also for health reasons to avoid exposure to the sun’s rays.
